fuel gauge quirk

2009 Murano LE: Fuel gauge does not egister after car is turned on when car is parked in slant for several hours with passenger side downhill. Typically happens with fuel 1/4 tank. After driving to level ground, stopping engine and restarting, fuel gauge is OK. My suspicion is that the tank gauge is on the driver side of the tank and registers zero fuel because gauge is on uphill side and fuel is on downhill side. Have not talked to dealer yet. No big problem, just a quirk you might want to be aware of.

Q45t and lowering springs...

Ok, so this may be a stupid question, but I have not been able to find a definitive answer. I have had one person who I feel is extremely knowledgable say that this would work. I'm basically looking for someone to corroborate this info. I have a 2000 AE Q45t, and would like to install a set of elwessos lowering springs on the car, can this be done with the T suspension

engine shuts down while cruising down the Freeway...

I getting spooked right about now with this M45, which I bought 3 months ago. It now has 33K mile on it (it's an '03). This is the SAME M with the post for the gauge issue (1/2 the cluster out; no AC..) last week. Today, while driving down the highway at about 75 mph, the car just completely loses power -- the engine just shuts off. I turn off the radio (so I can hear what's happening), then place the tranny in neutral so I can coast (I was already in the right lane with my exit coming up in 1/2 mile...) since I'm in neutral and pointed straight ahead, I turn off the ignition, pull the key, re-insert the key, turn the ignition back to "on" and the motor is running again -- I rev it and hear it/see the tach move. Back into Drive and motor on to Hooters for lunch with friends. After lunch, I drove it straight to Checkers Auto so they could check my battery. Turns out the battery is the ONE thing the previous owner did not have changed out at the dealer - it has an "Interstate" brand battery in it, but none of the Date stickers were pulled to tell me how old it is. However, per the electronic testing machine at Checkers, it tests out fine. "Within 100 cranking amps of a new one" -- keeping in mind it's 110 degrees outside and I've been driving on the freeway, so this battery is HOT.Is there ANY WAY my key fob might be sending (or not sending) the right signal and this crap is happening to me Would changing the batteries in each fob help at all Should i change out the car battery and pray to the electronic goddess of Ohms to bless my car accordinglyGrasping for straws (volts, amps...), gents. I was not offered an extended warranty, and although this puppy only has 33K on her, she's past the 4 year anniversary by about 6 months.Could a dealer sell me an extended warranty now, given the low milesANY viable thoughts appreciated....

92 Q45 Engine Blown! Parts for sale

Well it's been awhile since my last post due to me selling my beloved Q. The owner informed me that the engine blew out on it. He towed it to my house to look at it and the engine is seized bad. Just put new chain guides on it last year. It's seized at the crank for sure. Very strange the car was babied with only 89000 miles on it. It might be stripped for parts so if anybody is looking for some goodies let me know. Car has no rust all of the body parts are mint. The new chain guides have only 2000 miles on them. and the interior is in good shape also. I used to be a power seller on ebay and will ship parts out fast if this goes through. So let me know what you guys think.

Hello from Quebec. :)

Hello , my name is Jonathan I'm from Quebec.I've been browsing this site for two weeks and decided, after trying out the new Civics and Corolla's to buy myself a brand new Versa!!It's a 08 Versa SL in Super Black with all the goodies! It's my first Nissan and I love it! The car is awesome. Just finished waxing the hell out of it. Will be tinting the windows tomorrow. Since I'm pretty decent at welding/painting, I will be working in the next few days on my home made Upper strut bar and if it turns out pretty good I will be making myself some sway bars.By the way this site rocks and it's full of helpfull info and people seem great too. Will keep you guys posted on my mods!!!

No Electronics (radio, lights, cluster, top) - No Blown Fuses

I'm completely lost. I was just driving back to work after lunch today & all of my electronics cut out on the freeway - analog speedo gauge went "off the charts" (currently pointed as if my car was going past 110mph), then nothing:What doesn't work:- No radio- No gauge cluster lighting/speedo - tach still works from what I remember- no interior lights- no parking lights- no top operation (you can hear it click when I press top up/down, but doesn't actually engage)- no power door locks- no power windows- no alternator charge - car starts & stays @ 12v - could this be it Never had an alternator go out before, but I would imagine I should still have interior lights/radio access etc off the battery when the car is in the ON position. What does work:- Car starts & drives- headlights workWhat I checked:- No blown fuses in fuse box on driver side kick panel- No blown fuses in fuse box in engine bayI have no clue where to check next, I'm completely lost. Thanks for any help!

throttle body coolant.....

bypass, pretty simple to do......remove the line with the EVAP port for access.......if you have the stock intake youll have to take that off too...........loosen clamps with pliers, 4 total.......get a rag to put under the throttle body, little coolant will come out, the coolant flows (according to the service manual...) flows from the hose going into the front of the throttle body and exist on the side hose.bottom hose on pic, bypassing throttle body.....hose in throttle body just keeping stuff from getting in there..... after driving, the throttle body is just warm to touch like the rest of the intake.i dont know if this gains anything, but i live in the desert, no need to keep the throttle body any hotter.

I thought I would shareHappy 4th of JulySubject: Fwd: missing husband Rick was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was really angry. She told him, 'tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in less than 6 seconds, AND IT BETTER BE THERE!!' The next morning Rick got up early and left for work. When his wife awoke, she looked out the window, and sure enough there was a box gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway. Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway and brought the box back in the house. She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.Rick has been missing since Friday.
Downpipe hits frame rail

My ca18 is sitting in nismo motor mounts(yes they're ca ones). At first my friend put them on backwards and every time I would get on it or take a right turn, it would hit. Now the mounts are on right, but sometimes when I take a right turn or get on it, it will still hit. The clearance is super tight. I can barely wedge my finger between the downpipe and the rail. My setup includes, stock mani, s14 turbo, greddy o2 pipe, and a 3" downpipe( i think it's an old greddy one, not sure...)Is this normal Or is something wrong I don't remember having this issue when the ca was in my other 240.... I'll have to find my camera and take a pic of the engine bay and maybe someone can see if the engine sitting wrong or something. Thanks guys.-Pat

new qwest alternator

a heads up to anyone wanting to do a qwest alt upgrade. I have found a 100% brand new alt through car quest( i manage an independent store) . The cost is right at $200.00. With a new alt you Do Not have a core charge to mess with. The part# is 13473an and it fits any qwest from 93 to 98. This is a much better way to go than reman. The cost is around $50 cheaper than most remans with the additional core charge . The alt will most likely be a special order but it will only cost about $10 for shipping.

Taking the 99.5 QX4 on a 5000 mile road trip, tips Mechanical advice

In August, a couple buddies and I will be taking the QX4 from Virginia to Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico for the ultimate mountain biking destinations out there. Currently, the 99.5 QX4 has 115k mi on it and its running fine. I have no doubts that it'll make it the whole way, but does anyone have any mechanical tips or anything to watch out for when driving the QX4 long distances in the summer We are planning an oil change somewhere in there. In August, a couple buddies and I will be taking the QX4 from Virginia to Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico for the ultimate mountain biking destinations out there.
Currently, the 99.5 QX4 has 115k mi on it and its running fine. I have no doubts that it'll make it the whole way, but does anyone have any mechanical tips or anything to watch out for when driving the QX4 long distances in the summer? We are planning an oil change somewhere in there.
If you're curious, here's a rough GMap of what we're gonna do: http://tinyurl.com/5ho299

How can I get the artist and songs displayed on my Musicbox hard drive

I inserted a couple CD's and downloaded the albums on the hard drive but the artist and songs are not there. I thought it would work like itunes and automatically display the artist, album and songs. When i put the cd in the Gracenote icon comes on but then starts playing the album without the names listed. When I download the cd the same thing happens. I checked Gracenote's website and the cd's I played were listed in their data base. Is there a setting that needs to be on for songs to be displayed

Beautiful New (to me) Altima

I just bought a used 2003 Nissan Altima and it rocks. It has a little over 46,000 miles on it, but it still runs great. I'm looking for some sweet yet cheap ways to trick it out - anyone have some suggestions

Problem with vert

So I've been ironing out all the kinks since my auto/5 spd swap and I've come across something I'm having trouble figuring out. When I accelerate the rpms seem to jump up instead smoothly increasing. Now its not the gauges, I tried 3 sets just to be sure and its not really noticeable unless you watch the rpms. Basically I'm jut wondering if anyone has any ideas. It doesnt happen when I'm in neutral (revving is smooth without interruption).Anyone
